Delta Airlines: Uplift Employee Rewards Program
Helping Delta workers reap the benefits of promoting the SkyMiles credit cards.
The Challenge:
The American Express SkyMiles Credit Cards represent a large part of Delta’s revenue, so they needed creative new ways to drive card member acquisition and upgrades.
The Strategic Solution:
Delta’s best opportunity was right under their nose—their own 80,000 employees. We rebuilt and rebranded an incentive-based program, called Delta Uplift, for employees to sell the SkyMiles Card. We created the loyalty platform and instituted a gamified rewards system for every card account referral. We then flight personalized 360 campaigns to spike engagement, created collateral and educational videos to enable sales, and produced events throughout the world to drive sign-ups.
Why It works:
It’s a win-win for Delta and its employees, who can earn up to $20,000 a year on top of their regular pay. Employees have purchased new cars and put their children through college thanks to the Uplift program.

The Results:
Our colorful new, gamified program inspired 30K Delta employees to enrolled in the Uplift program, generating $170M in annual revenue. While under our stewardship, the program has seen year-over-year growth since 2013, but our impact on Delta’s business reached even further — our test-and-learn approach to promotional offers informed Delta’s entire Delta SkyMiles credit card marketing strategy.
